Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
About Transit Health
Transit Health is a Maryland-based outpatient mental health practice on a simple mission: bring high-quality, relationship-centered mental health care to people who are too often overlooked — including Medicaid and Medicare members, working families, older adults, and communities where access has historically been thin.
We believe clinicians do their best work when they are supported, not stretched thin. That means manageable caseloads, responsive admin support, modern telehealth tools, real clinical supervision, and a culture that treats counselors as partners — not headcount.
We are growing. If you want to practice well, grow your craft, and be part of building something meaningful in Maryland, we would love to meet you.

Why This Role Matters
You are the clinician who holds the room. At Transit Health, LCPCs carry more complex cases, shape how care is delivered, and help set the standard that the rest of the team grows into. You will practice at the top of your license — providing outpatient therapy to adults, older adults, and families across a diverse Maryland community, with genuine admin support and a real voice in how we grow.
If you’ve spent years being the clinician your organization depends on but never quite invested in — this is a different kind of place. We are building something you can actually stay in.
What You’ll Do
- Provide outpatient individual, family, and group counseling — evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop clinically sound, measurable treatment plans.
- Manage a thoughtful caseload with flexibility for telehealth — and keep documentation current (≥ 95% timeliness on notes and treatment plan updates).
- Coordinate with psychiatry, primary care, and community resources to support whole-person treatment.
- Contribute to clinical quality — case consultations, peer review, and informal mentorship of our LGPC clinicians. (A formal supervisor track is available if you hold or are pursuing LCPC-S status.)
- Participate in continuous improvement — help refine clinical workflows, templates, and outcomes tracking.
- Uphold HIPAA, Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists standards, and Transit Health’s clinical and ethical policies.
Who You Are
- Required: Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, or closely related field.
- Required: Active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. LCSW-C applicants with equivalent scope will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of post-license outpatient experience with adults and/or older adults.
- Proven clinical judgment with moderate-to-complex cases — co-occurring conditions, trauma, grief, mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions.
- Strong writer and documenter. Your notes hold up to payer audit and peer review without drama.
- Comfortable in a hybrid outpatient setting and with modern telehealth workflows.
Nice to Have
- Board-Approved Supervisor (LCPC-S) status — or actively pursuing it. Transit Health pays for supervisor training for qualifying clinicians.
- Specialty certifications (EMDR, CCTP, CCM, addictions, geriatric mental health).
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare populations in Maryland.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Amharic, French, Yoruba, Igbo, or another language spoken in Maryland.
- Prior leadership, program-design, or supervision experience.
